The Face on Mars

                                                                                                                                  Robert Wills   August '95

I just wannabe the Face on Mars

Along with Elvis, and those other stars

I'm not holding out for money, or a fancy car

I think it's only fair that I should wanna be the Face on Mars

Janis started whinin' 'bout a Mercedes Benz

The party's over when the greed kicks in

Oh, the music may be mellow, but the message that it sends

Is that nothing really matters but the money that you spend

And now I wannabe the Face on Mars...

O.J., Jackie-O, & Lisa Marie

It's all a tabuloid reality

Elizabeth Taylor and the Cee-lebrities

One day they will take the stand, right beside me

When I get to be the Face on Mars...

I saw the Duchess on the Radio

She was a rockin' and -a boppin' like Bo Diddley-o

I love to meet her; but there she goes

She's left the building, smelling like a rose

That's why I wannabe the Face on Mars,

Along with Elvis, and those other stars,

I'm not holding out for money, or a fancy car,

And I think it's only fair, that I should wannabe the Face on Mars

I just wannabe; I think I oughtta be,

But Oh, Lordy, it's a cruel, cruel world

I just wannabe; I think I oughtta be,

But Oh, Lordy, it's a cruel, cruel world Cruel, cruel world

Cruel, cruel world

Cruel, cruel world

I just wannabe the Face... on... Mars...
